Spinal Decompression

Spinal decompression therapy was developed in response to the demand for safer, cost-effective alternatives to spinal surgery for:

  • Bulging, Herniated and Degenerated Disks

  • Spinal Stenosis

  • Facet Syndrome

  • Sciatica

  • Numbness, tingling or weakness in the arms or legs

How Does Spinal Decompression Work?

During spinal decompression, a patient lies on a specialized table with a harness wrapped around them for 10-20 minutes. Connected to a computer, the harness gently tractions the affected area to decompress the spine. Distractive forces create a negative pressure in the center of the intervertebral disc, which creates a vacuum phenomenon that retracts or reduces the size of the herniated or bulging disc. The stretch helps bring nutrients and water back into the disc.

Can I Benefit From Spinal Decompression?

Are you suffering from one or a few of the conditions listed above? Are you missing work due to pain? Are you concerned about the side effect of medication or surgery? If you answered “yes” then it may be a good idea to consider different treatments to reduce the symptoms of your condition. At Indian Trail Chiropractic & Rehab spinal decompression is used in conjunction with chiropractic adjustments, corrective exercise, and other modalities.
